Conference Program

Twenty-first century science and technology envisage hopes, fears and ethical challenges that with scientific and technological advances the humanity has reached a "defining moment" in our dominion over the planet and our ability to sustain or destroy it through our behavior and actions. Impacts of climatic change are inevitable. Earth's crust suffer a “isostatic” rebound as glaciers melt that may cause the planet's seismic plates to slip and agitate volcanic magma, increasing the likelihood of earthquakes and volcanic eruption. As custodian of our planet we should do more to counter the danger posed by climate change, ravaging the biosphere.

ESDev-2005 successfully addressed the vital issues “Environment and Sustainable Development”. Utilizing the same platform, ESDev-2007 is also aimed at:
  • Exploring the linkages among the environment, sustainable development & society.
  • Finding technological solutions in environmental remediation, alternate energy resources
    and resource management.
  • Promoting the integration of environment, sustainability, resources development in education in support of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainability, adopted for 2005- 2015.

VENUE:

The Second International Conference on Environmentally Sustainable Development – ESDev-2007, will be held in August 26-28, 2007, in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
