The Lecture of Biotech Lectures Series was held on 04th November, 2010
To enhance objective understanding of the processes and procedures employed in biotechnology and other related issues, PABIC has initiated a popular lecture series, delivered by the well known Biotechnologist and related experts. A lecture of this series entitled, “Date Palm Research Institute Activities”, was delivered by Prof. Dr. G. Sarwar Markhand, Director, Date Palm Research Institute, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Sindh, at Video Conferencing Hall, Latif Ebrahim Jamal National Science Information Center, H. E. J. Research Institute of Chemistry, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi. Prof. Markhand and his team is using tissue-cultue technology for the micropropagation of several varieties of date palm trees for large scale cultivation.
