Introduction
Biotechnology is no more technology of the future. It has already revolutionized different aspects of human endeavor especially in health care, agriculture, energy and environment. Almost every aspect of human life is touched by biotechnology.
In order to take stock of the recent developments in biotechnology and its allied fields of molecular biology, genetics, microbiology etc, a three day workshop is being held at COMSTECH Building, Islamabad to highlight developments in the area of health, agriculture and energy. The main focus will be to elucidate impact of these innovative technologies on economic development of OIC countries.
First day of the Workshop will be devoted to Agriculture followed by Health and the third day for Energy. Lead lectures by national and international experts will be delivered.
Objectives of the Workshop
- To provide an opportunity for interaction and discussion among young and experienced scientists in the field.
- Examine the potential of biotechnology for economic development.
- Explore the possible interaction of academia and industry in OIC member states.
Targeted Participants
Young researchers from public & private sector universities and institutes actively involved in biological and medical research.
Selection of the Participants
The relevance of candidates’ present job as researcher will be the main criteria for selection. Participants planning to attend the course in private capacity are requested to submit a recommendation letter/ No objection certificate from the head of department along with the application form.
Local Hospitality
COMSTECH will provide local hospitality (board & lodging) to the selected participants in its Guest House.
